How do I find out if the library has access to a particular journal?

Answer

To find out of the library has access to a particular journal, magazine, or newspaper you can look up the title in Journal Locator found on the library's home page under Find Resources.

  • Select the journals tab.
  • Enter the title.
  • If you know the exact title select "match exact words" for the best results. If you only know a partial title then select "match any words".

After you click "search" you will either get a single result or a list of results as seen below. Under each entry you will see the number of access points to this title. "In library" tells you the number of print or microfilm options available. "Full text" tells you the number of online sources with this title.

Click on an entry to find out how to access the title.

Journal Locator Results

  • Click the journal title to access the title directly. You will be forwarded to the database with your title. From there you will need to use the databases interface to navigate the title.
  • The collection line tells you what library database the title is in. Clicking on this link will bring you to the database, but not directly to the title.
  • The coverage line tells you what years are available in this particular source. If you are looking for a particular issue make sure it falls within the coverage dates.
